Is it via aliexpress? I swear they're getting slower. Lots of stuff used to get to me in a couple of weeks, now it's more like 6 weeks. Grr.

Mine was around two weeks from aliexpress. It's Chinese New Year soon, so basically China is closed for business over the next two weeks.

Yea, Chinese New Year really does the shipping times in from China.  I actually found it on Amazon in stock and fulfilled by Amazon.  It was more expensive (but not horribly so), and I paid $10 for express shipping, but now it's suppose to be here Sunday.  We'll see.

Out of curiosity - which HDMI splitter are you using?  I've obtained four from various sources, but all of them keep the HDCP protection intact, so they're unusable.

Just as a followup, the device did come today, and it took me maybe an hour to get it setup and working with everything.  Probably the strangest thing is that it doesn't come with DHCP on by default, so you have to get it physically on your network but then change your computer IP to be in the same range as the device so you can login and enable DHCP.  I was able to do the channel import from the XML file I modified (sorry, didn't make the NPVR5 jump), and the channel changing works fine with my external script.  I did have to change the audio to AC3.  With AAC my Mac and Windows machines running Kodi did fine, but my Vero 4K+ running OSMC (basically a dedicated Kodi box) didn't like the AAC audio.  Works fine with AC3.  The Vero 4K+ is on my main TV, so it's possible that's also due to my seven year old sound bar too.  Anyway, I'm back in business with no USB encoding devices anymore.

Do you have an option to output AC3 in your web server?

Martin

I do, and changing it to AC3 fixed my audio problems on my main system (and all the other clients still work).  Note that I don't use NextPVR at all for a client, so the audio has never worked on it because I don't have the needed codecs installed.

Interesting even though the specs on the web site said the encoder only does H.264, there's also an option for H.265.  I might play with that some next week when the spouse is at work, but for now we're good to go.  the encoder solved another problem I had with my old setup, which is that the Vero4K+ chokes on interlaced video with LiveTV, so I had to set my cable box to 720p and lock it in that setting to be able to watch LiveTV.  With the new encoder I told it to always output 1920x1080 and then locked the cable box on 1080i.  That seems to give me a 1080p output that works with the Vero 4K+. So I lost 5.1 audio but gained 1080p.
