I have a P4 3ghz proccessor and have been using GBPVR for a while now and I'm very happy with it. However the automatic Zap2it update doesn't seem to be going through and when I do a manual EPG update it takes about 30min and pegs my proccesor. This doesn't seem normal to me. Any Ideas?? please let me know.

I'm running latest Ver. of GBPVR, Intel P4 3ghz,512mb ram,Hauppage PVR 150 and Win XP Pro.

The first update only takes a few minutes for me with a 100 odd channels, but some users with a much higher number of channels have reported up to 40 minutes. Just be patient and wait. If it doesnt show an error message, its still working.

Subsequent updates will only take a couple of minutes.

I am still getting this problem.

Anyone else? I'm getting it on 2 different comps with 2 different internet connections.

"You EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG source settings and try again."

Possibilities I can think of include:
- Firewall in the way
- Incorrect zap2it account (try logging in to http://labs.zap2it.com to check)
- zap2it account expired (try logging in to http://labs.zap2it.com to check)

Thanks for the thoughts.
- No firewall running outside of the Windows firewall - plus it used to work on both computers.
- It used to work so it should be fine, right?
-I can log in and see Zap2It, andi get this screen:

Status: Active
Subscription Expires: 2005/06/30
Subscription Plan: Gold

So.......

I'm using V0.91.11 on this computer and i'm pretty sure its the same version on my PVR.....

Any other ideas guys? Is it worth trying to set up XMLTV for the US? I looked at it for a second but it looks super complicated.

I'm gonna try signing up for a new zap2it acct and see if that changes anything, just for fun.

What does error in your config.exe.log file say, and how quickly do you get the error after you click the 'update epg' button.

I have been having a similar problem since at least April 21. The update process ends much sooner than previously (about 1 min now), and the guide in GBPVR is empty. Just tried again and here is an error-like message from the config.exe.log file.

4/26/2005 6:45:58 PM.143 INFO [129] Requesting listings for period: 2005-05-05T00:00:00Z - 2005-05-04T00:00:00Z

Appears that the listings period has incorrect dates?

As an added note, the date setting on this computer was messed up and set to October 2005; don't know how it happened. Set it back but no change in EPG update.

Also upgraded to 0.90.12b but no effect from that either.

Also, this message at the end of log file:

4/26/2005 6:46:20 PM.845 VERBOSE [7] Saving Zap2it Configuration
4/26/2005 6:46:22 PM.828 WARNING [7] Unable to compact database automatically
