Probably irrelevant, but I can watch live TV via the guide while the recording is in progress (same program).

I've just checked this here, and it seems to play an in-progress recording ok.

Can you try creating a c:\temp, and set these registry settings in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR:

LogDemuxFileOps=1 (DWORD)
LogDemux=1 (DWORD)

then reproduce the problem, post the nlite.log, and the couple of logs from c:\temp (demux.txt and file.txt)

I accidentally hit play on a OTA recording in progress and it worked. I tried a second one that was also in progress and it shows a blank screen. Both are over the air, same quad tuner.
I restarted NLite and reproduced it to minimize the logging.

First, tried one that doesn't work:
CBS Evening News With Norah O'Donnell
Then the recording that works:
News at 5

I've replaced my antenna as it was damaged and rescanned the channels. (Don't think this was related)

I tried playing a recording in progress from the server (which I rarely use) and it works. (Pet Vet Dream Team)
From the client, the progress bar appears briefly like it should, but the screen is blank.

Lets have another try collecting those more detailed logs I need to look at this. The instructions were:

Ideally collect the logs without doing too much, so that I don't end up with massive logs. ie, start a recordings, then try watching it, confirm it has the issue then zip up the logs immediately and post them.

I should note, you'll also want to remove those registry settings after collecting the logs, because they'll very quickly fill your hard drive with logging.

Checking here, in-progress recordings are playing, giving both audio and video, but I can see an issue with skipping, which I'm looking into.
