Right as I said currentTime and cover aren't supported now and in reality this changed in 6.1.3 and sub has to decide if or when he will do this.

My other server is running version 6.1.5.231022
In any case, looks like I'll have to put a clock by my TV as a work around - lol. I didn't realize how often I hit pause to check the time until now. Sometimes I'm watching a recording before I have to leave for an appt or something else. Hopefully sub can fit this in sometime later. Art

I understand and I did try my best during pre release to have the new GUI work for old and new users, tradeoffs had to be made. Unfortunately I dd not factor in users using variables that NextPVR didn't use in their custom skins.

FYI - I have the same issue with the current NLite. So I don't see how it's your issue alone.

Maybe you don't understand the issue, it is not a client issue, NextPVR.exe and all UI clients use the same skin (but UI clients can have different skins)
In version 6 sub added cover art. This cover art is a good name because it ended up covering the time. In 6.1.3 sub removed the time from the skin but it appears @currentTime was still available to custom skins. It was removed from Player/Video.xml. To confirm I could customize it in 6.1.5 I changed @description to @currentTime and I see the time where the description is. That way it also doesn't get covered by the art on the right. In version 7 sub completely redid the OSD and the variables that it returns. None of this is documented but let's assume the time isn't available because there is no place to show it with thumbs. Certainly the MetaData block from Player/Video.xml is no longer used. Only one user wrote about the change so let's also assume it is fairly low priority and basically you are asking for the same thing VCR58 asked for just in v7 with the stock skin. I think having the time and the cover art meta data is quite nice but there probably is other metadata available, before it was pretty rich (and looked nicer without thumbs too much less scrunched together) Martin

Martin,
I had tried @currentTime instead of the description with V7 and it was ignored (blank). My V6 has the cover art on the left (as I posted earlier), so that's probably why I can still see the time value. FWIW - The Emby client displays the current time in the top right corner of the screen when you hit pause, so it's not on the OSD. Anyway, I'm ok for now. Art

Right @currentTime is gone for now, the whole MetaData block is gone, it is a completely different process of player rendering and skins. Believe me I had to work a lot with sub maybe hundreds of posts) just to get a UI that I felt old users and new users could work with, sub cannot satisfy everyone.
So there is nothing you can do to bring it back without sub's involvement and since he didn't respond to VCR58's post it may not be coming back any time soon. As I posted you are probably the only one using that since 6.1.2 because you used a custom skin. I hope this skin will get improved too. Now that the mystery is solved, I think you can consider this a feature request. Nothing is broken though but you can always go back to 6.1.5 with your custom skin or find another way to tell the time. Martin |
