There is two ways GB-PVR will work with the remote.

1) Using the Hauppauge remote software. ir.exe must be running. Settings described in earlier post must be included in the hauppauge irremote.ini file. Any time a key is pressed, ir.exe receive notification. It then looks at the name of the application which is currently active. If it is an application listed in the [Applications] section of irremote.ini, then it looks up what keystrokes it should send to that application, and sends them.

2) If you dont want to use the Hauppauge remote software, or GB-PVR wont be the active application, you may want to kill ir.exe and enable the 'use direct access to Hauppauge remote' in the config app. This will directly recieve and process remote control keystrokes.

Geez, what is it with all the remote control questions in the last couple of days? I havn't changed this stuff since it was implemented about 8 months ago, and now all the questions start...

After killing ir.exe app and removing it from the Startup folder, I rebooted and set GBPVR to use direct on the remote... it works fine. Strange that this didn't work using the same settings before I installed the IR program (and subsequently disabled it). Oh well... now to playing with my new PVR. Thanks for your help.
