Seriously, though, I think most users don't want an automatic "bring to front" - this would probably be more confusing than not.

I think GBPVR does not start more than one window, so you could start out by trying to run
gbpvr.exe -topmost
when the window is defocused, to see if it gets back on top. I don't know much about windows batch files, but I imagine it would be possible to run a batch file that calls the above every minute or so.

As a note, i have tried "ForegroundLockTimeout" doesnt work either, only when a window is already up it will stop it taking focus, i want to stop other new windows doing it.

I will give that a wiz, although to be honest use the Task Scheduler instead, its more manageable, i will have a look now.... I understand what you mean and that’s why i am being specific about this.

Many Thanks

Right think i sorted it.

Created a system task (Control Panel, Task Scheduler), to run the GBPVR.EXE (browsed to it so as long as upgrades are loaded in the same locations and have the same name it will never need changing), to run the program every 5 minutes (can be down to every minute).

Some settings are to repeat this for 9999 hours (just over a year) and to never terminate the task if running, this runs the GBPVR.EXE and bring it to the front, as designed it will only run one instance and i am betting this will not break the Recording Service as the name suggests its a "Service" so will work no matter what the GBPVR.EXE program is doing.

However, will it break the web back end?, this I am not sure about but think it will be fine, if it does (like log you out once in) then will set this to every 30 minutes or so...

Many Thanks

I have a Hauppuge 350 card, and when the program runs again any output on the TV when watching doesn’t change, the only thing it does it flick up the onscreen menus while watching a program.

I have changed it to every 3 hours as that will be annoying in the middle or watching a movie so this might happen once and that will be it.

This isn’t a fix, i will still be looking as would prefer a program to interact with the desktop rather than starting the program every 3 hours.

I personally thing a bit of code in the program would be best, to allow you to get the program to bring itself into focus on an amount of time you specify OR just turn that facility off altogether. That would be the best and final result.

Many Thanks

I second this request. My PC is dedicated to the TV, and I don't use it for anything other than gbpvr. It really is annoying to have some other app throw a status message and take the focus off the window. I have a Prismiq that I use some who's annoying software likes to scan media files and while doing so, throws up a little box in the lower corner of the screen and changes the window focus. My kids then don't know why the remote doesn't work anymore and just get frustrated.

I would *love* a feature to make gbpvr stay on top and keep focus. Even if I wanted to use it for something else, I would just exit gbpvr since the front end isn't necessary for the recordings to run.
