Ok, I reinstalled xp and added service pack 2 and got .238 installed good. I can run it on my server and it is recording programs like the good old days. I cannot get it to come up on the mvp though. I don't have any problem with the hauppauge software starting up and viewing tv shows off of my server. I thought it might be a problem with .238 so I erased that and installed .227 once again without any of the problems I had before installing XP SP2. It still will not "boot" up on the mvp. I know my network is good because I can start the hauppauge software and do everything that it is capable of. Does GBPVR access windows xp service pack 2 differently than the Hauppauge software. I have the firewall completely disabled as far as I can tell. Any ideas, the mvp is just sitting there saying "contacting servers" As soon as I start the Hauppauge software the MVP comes to life.

Thanks,

Somebody please give me a clue. My Media MVP is stuck on contacting servers. I have dhcp enabled on my router, I can ping the mediamvp based on the address I got from the router client list. Windows xp service pack 2. Running tonights build 2311 same thing happened with other 2 builds. Media MVP works fine with Hauppauge software.

What is happening? How can I get this thing to boot?

Please help, this is a different problem than the above thread. I started a new thread, but it got erased. So here I am.

Thanks in advance,
