Initial feedback, just tested on the PC not yet on MVP.

1. The numbers on the upper left hand corner, very neat and clean. Two thumbs up.

2. The last 30 seconds, when the countdown appears is slightly distracting since it's smack in the middle and would actually disturb a watcher while he fumbles around for the remote. I would have preferred the countdown still on the upper lefthand corner, maybe of a different color indicating the countdown. Of course, this is only me since it's already there, maybe a setting that will allow the user to choose what to see during the countdown. Also, a decimal number appeared during the countdown, which might be distracting as well.

3. I set the shutdown to hibernate but somehow it goes to standby instead, don't know if it's a bug.

Will give some more feedback as soon as I play around with it some more. Will try it with XRecord, My Music as well, and of course with the MVP

betlit,

I get a weird error when invoking the plugin ... Can I send any logs to help you out, the ones I looked at at the time of the error showed nothing?

btw can you pls add a note to the WIKI about the NAME of the dir the skin.xml goes in plugin skin. presumably its shutdown (works, at least comes up in Config), I tried Shut down and a few others before I got it sorted out :-)

jep its 'ShutDown'. i will add this to the wiki.

the error is definitely skin related. i can reproduce it by removing (or commenting out) every button in the skin.xml between <Buttons> and </Buttons>

maybe you have rearranged the buttons and accidentally copied the comment sign <!-- or something...

Hmmm allI did was just put the skin.xml in here

C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\Blue\ShutDown

Didn't touch it otherwise. In settings I chose Standby.

Doh! Sorry betlit. I used the version here on the thread. The version in the WIKI has an empty.png file which goes in the skin dir. Not having that caused the failure....

Works Now!

*lol* s***t happens.

the zip file on my server was never meant to be downloaded by more than one or two people. so (lazy as i am) i just added the necessary parts for an 'update' form 2.x to it without path info.

the 'real' release-zip files in the are always with path info (so you do not have to guess the right skin directory)

Hey Betlit,

Is this added functionality going to be added to the Shutdown plugin on the Wiki? I would be interested in adding this if it is working Smile

Thanks

it will be. i have some problems to get it working on the mvp, but using the 'normal' frontend, it runs without problems.

unfortunately i was/am a bit stressed and kinda busy (job and private life) and i was unable to spend any time debuggin the plugin (which takes time, given the circumstance that i do not own a mvp and have to ask fhamas to test it and send/post the logs)

hope i can do some stuff this weekend (looks good, so far *g*)
