I've noticed this too. Everytime ShowAnalyzer starts, focus is lost. Thankfully I finally discovered the Menu button on the Hauppauge remote lets me get focus back.

MaBo Wrote:Well, I've always liked the fact that my cpu doesn't have to work to let me watch a recording. If I occasionaly play a movie through the graphics card tv-out, I'm always dissappointed with the image quality. It may be a question of fiddling with settings, though.

The s-video output from graphics cards can be very variable. I have a pc with an onboard nvidia MX440 chip and the output is terrible. I tried an ATI 9300 but that wasn;t much good. Now I use a pasively cooled ATI 9600pro and this is excellent (imho) on a CRT tv. I don;t think you need a more powerful (read hotter) card for watching movies unless you want high resolutions.

I still use my pvr-350 as I think it is an excellent analogue card. However, I never really bothered with the s-vid output on it as that meant not being able to watch dvds mpeg4 files. Also, it's a lot easier to work on the pc when it is connected to the vga!.

In recent versions of SA, Jere added what is called "Invisible Mode". Setting it makes gbpvr keep focus.
