I've been getting the same error with a Fusion 5 USB version of the atsc tuner. Dvico's 3.2 drivers didn't help. The 3.11 drivers give the same error.

Obviously this is an issue with all Fusion 5 cards from Dvico (lite, gold, usb)

I've changed the bda.ini file but it hasn't helped. To all Fusion 5 (atsc) owners - let's see if we can collectively solve this issue.

Some more information on the error:

From a clean reboot, I open GBpvr, choose live tv - I get the Live TV Object Reference error. I hit ok, try Live TV again - 20% of the time TV comes on the 2nd attempt.

80% of the time it reboots the PC on the 2nd attempt to select Live TV. Here are the logs from when it reboots the PC. Hope this helps.

Using Graph Edit shows the BDA Receiver Component to be:

Bluebird, WDM TsCapture (Mpeg2 Transport) - maybe that line needs to be changed in the bda.ini file from FusionHDTV, Transport Stream Capture to Bluebird, WDM TsCapture.

(edit: no that didn't help)

What do you mean by changing pins???

Update....

I stopped the three MCE services from running and set them to manual. If those services are not running I no longer get the error described above. I now get a picture and no sound. I have not figured out why I don't get sound but it is probably a different error. I do get the error above when I exit the live TV screen. Also, If I try to record (or pause) it locks up the application. Some progress but not there yet.....

Crickert, are you running MCE as well?

Thanks,
Jorge

I'm seeing this same problem with the Fusion HDTV Gold USB (ATSC) version. I also renamed the TsCapture item in bda.ini, and this didn't change it.

Jorge or crickert, have you found success yet?

I run Win XP Pro SP2. It's a relatively clean install, but I've also got BTV 4 (working), SageTV (not-working), and the Fusion app (working) installed along with GBPVR.

I think it's having trouble finding the device for some reason.

By changing the device ID to "2", I got the fail to locate error. So it sees the tuner.

What problem are you talking about exactly? This thread started out being about problems with the names for the Fusion directshow filters, but it seems we've now progressed past that issue ok.

If its the 'Object Reference error' that was introduced part way though this thread, reproduce the error, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

That doesnt tell me what I need to know. Reproduce the error, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take a look. Attach both complete log files.

The error occurs upon choosing "live tv" off the main menu. The full error text is "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." I think it's the same error encountered by the original poster.

If it helps, I was able to record a program stream to dvr-ms with gbpvr. The stream played audio only inside gbpvr, audio/video in WMP10.

Also tried the last three DVICO drivers, as hdtvwatcher reported success with this tuner. None of these versions worked. The .grf file in gbpvr directory does not change to reflect the naming used in the bda.ini file. (It refers to TsCapture, while the bda.ini file refers to Transport Stream Capture).

Thanks for your help. I reproduced the error and have attached the archive. Included in the archive is the bda.ini file modified with the new (not-yet-working) section to match what I see in the .grf (last section).
