Having a look at the logs, it looks like the wrong version of CommonGBPVRUtils.dll. Have you got the version linked from the wiki?

Weird, the downloaded zip file had an older version in. Replaced with new version, but now locking GBPVR up completely. New logs attached.[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

It looks from the logs that you now have the right version of the Utils dll. However it looks like it is hanging because it is trying to get access to the network/internet. Are you running a firewall?

If so I would suggest that you add an exclusion to the list for PVRx2 and the GetIplayerService.

Nope, no firewall apart from NAt in the router. Does it need a port forwarding? The old version worked fine and nothing should have changed apart from following through the wiki instructions.
I've just checked the wiki and actually I didn't "(Ensure that the PATH Env Variable points to the perl directory)" cos I don't know what it means. Could this be the problem?

From the logs i can see that Perl is installed correctly but the script could not connect to the internet to get an update.

Port forwarding should not be required on your router. However port 9878 needs to be available on your machine for inter process communication.

You could try opening a command window and trying:

perl.exe "C:\Program Files\get_iplayer\get_iplayer.pl" --update

To see if you can suceed in communicating with the internet.

I'll see if I can recreate it, would it be possible to send me a copy of your config XML and the full version of the log you have attached?

Figured that a log file over 3GB wasn't really what you wanted (the next download in the queue failed and kept writing until I realised) so I bounced the machine to ensure a clean start for a test. Guess what!

Lesson now absorbed - and apologies for taking so long to get back on this.

Hi,

Having similar issues with v3, but followed your advice without success on my part. If I run update_get_iplayer from the start menu, it connects and says its updated, if I run "Run GetIplayer" it connects to the iplayer website and lists all of the available downloads. However in PVRX2, if I go to the menu item +getiplayer, it just hangs PVRX2.

Logs attached, can you recommend any fixes?

I would check your version of CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll

Wow, I don't believe it, I downloaded the latest this morning and stuck it in the GBPVR folder, and it didn't work, now I've done it again and it works!!!

YAY!!! Thanks very much, looking forward to playing with this!
