installed this plugin again (it was previously broken for me),
opened firewall for getiplayer_service in plugins folder
setup ALL folder locations in the plugin config
install CommonGBPVRUtilities and OVERWROTE existing file(s)
Everything appears to be working perfectly.

I've got fuzzweed's problem: the plugin won't launch. On trying it, it freezes PVRX2 which needs to be restarted.
However, it will launch if I stop the Get_iplayer service, but then won't do anything useful - I don't know if this helps you point the finger.
I also note that the errors include a number of missing pngs, none of which I could locate in any of the downloads. The config dialog is correctly set up so it points to the supporting apps.
Logs attached - thanks for your help.

PS: Should add that I tried the perl script update process and disabled the firewall, just in case the problem was a connectivity issue - it wasn't...

Could it be a skin issue? I'm still on CS3 which works fine for me (not broken, so not fixed...)
It does not look like it from the logs, It looks like the auto update for the perl script is the last entry in the logs. It would probably be worth changing the configuration settings to disable autoupdate and see if that lets you get further. Re attach the logs once you have had a go.

Strange, I am using AVG and I have not had any warnings in the past. However, it does look like AVG are treating the windows resource compiler as a trojan! I have removed the file just to be safe the plugin does not require it anyway
