I appreciate your help and I know it is a lot of work answering what you might consider simple minded questions but since there is no decent manual that I can find, this is the only place I know to look. I'm sorry if I don't pick up on your "hints" about fixing things.

Dont take it the wrong, I wasnt taking it as simple minded question. I usually just type really short answers to everything because I'm pretty time constrained and I dont have enough time to spend typing long winded replies.

Instead of: "It determines if a device has FM support by looking in the direct.ini file.", may I should have said "It determines if a device has FM support by looking in the direct.ini file. So edit this file.". I thought you'd get the gist of what I was saying.

completely understand; I will try to think a little more when reading your replys! BTW, I really like the software and will be donating to the cause soon.

Cheers

I took your suggestion and modified the direct.ini file. It is attached to this post. I set flag to zero on the Hauppauge USB2 device.

Surprisingly the section in the .ini file for the M150 card does not have a "SUPPORTS_FM_RADIO" flag line. But the capture card definitely has an FM tuner. There is an FM antenna connector right above the cable TV input. So I tried inserting the line "SUPPORTS_FM_RADIO=1" in the Avermedia M150 section.

Radio still did not work; so I don't know what is going on. I attached the GBPVR native log as well and maybe that can give you a hint.

Thanks
Bill

Realistically I cant provide any support for the AverMedia M150. I dont own one, and know nothing about it.

Well how about the WinTV PVR USB2? That is listed on your homepage as being a supported capture card. Any ideas on getting that one to work?

I'll dust off my USB2 and give it a go before the next release.

Try editing your direct.ini and replacing the PVR2 USB with the following (I hate that name typo, but cant change it now)

[Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB]
INIT_MODE=IVAC
INIT_MSP=1
SUPPORTS_FM_RADIO=1
DETECT_MSP=0
FILTER_CROSSBAR=Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 Crossbar
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 Encoder
FILTER_TV_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 TvTuner
FILTER_TV_AUDIO=Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 TvAudio
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_TUNER_IN=Video Tuner In
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_VIDEO_OUT=Analog Video
PIN_TVTUNER_ANALOG_AUDIO_OUT=Analog Audio
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_IN=TVAudio In
PIN_TVAUDIO_TV_AUDIO_OUT=TVAudio Out
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_TUNER_IN=Audio Tuner In
PIN_CROSSBAR_VIDEO_DECODER_OUT=Video Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_VIDEO_IN=Analog Video In
PIN_CROSSBAR_AUDIO_DECODER_OUT=Audio Decoder Out
PIN_CAPTURE_ANALOG_AUDIO_IN=Analog Audio In
PIN_CAPTURE_CAPTURE_OUT=Capture
PIN_CAPTURE_PREVIEW_AUDIO_OUT=Output3
PIN_WRITER_INPUT_IN=Input

Will try the change when I get home. On a little trip this weekend. Won't be able to play with it until Monday or Tuesday.

I did get it to work, but only under weird circumstances. I run gbpvr and start playing a station. The tray light goes green, but no sound comes out. Now i go to the happauge program radio.exe and run it. The happauge player starts to play audible music. Now it gets really weird...
I switch over to gbpvr and give it focus, and it starts playing the gbpvr station. I tested this for sure by putting radio.exe on a classical station and gbpvr on country. When i switch back to radio.exe in the foreground, classical starts playing again. very strange...so i looked at the radio.exe logs and found this:

Now i wonder if the radio.exe program knows how to connect to certain pins that gbpvr doesnt, but my knowledge of what 'ConnectToPinByName Audio Decoder, Default DirectSound' actually means is limited...so your thoughts?
