There is no documentation really.
I have made an Excel sheet with all GBPVR strings and translations.
The LanguagePlugin zip on the Wiki contains some document on character code and language codes. You can look here.

The problems with languages, is that some languages have very long word. German is one of the longest. some examples

Seriously I'm no prude either but really would like you to edit the post with the playboy picture as would be bad news if

1) Someone under 16/18 saw this as maybe illegal

2) Could get me into serious trouble if vieeed this post at work!

Thanks

I found an excel spreadsheet. It looks like you guys are off to a really good start translation-wise. Now that you've gotten started you just need to know where you have to go. That's something I can help with.

1. Make it easy for the end user to select a language
2. Make sure that the selected translation is the best that it can be.
Yes, easy editing and test of languges is one of the objectives.
Make sure that the selected translation is the best that it can be is the challange...

Language translations are obviously associated with the content layer of GBPVR skins. The content layer is implemented as xml files. The xml files define the real estate available for the elements containing the text. The look and/or feel of these elements is of no interest in your solutions, your focus should be on the available real estate.

You have no control over the avialable real estate.

That is completly up to the person creating the xml file; this is how it should be. Some skins may focus on making things easy for you. Others may not. (When you're looking at Playmates, who needs text?)

Easy or difficult, your challange doesn't change: provide a translation that is the best that it can be.

Obviously, you will need to provide translations for every plugin within the context of every skin. If there is a lot of real estate avialable, your job is easy. If not, then not.

Is this a big job? Well it is bigger than one person, but there do seem to be a lot of you.

Will you ever finish? No. But then you don't need too.

What you will do is what wants doing.

If a skin is any good, someone(s) will be willing to create the translation tables for it--when it wants doing.

Their effort will be based on what you have already accomplished.

There are no unique innovations, all new accomplishments are based on something that some else has already done. Make this a part of your solution.

I'll fix and update....but my line is so slow and I get timeouts all the time.
Besides that what do you thing about the element layout.

By the way....saw that you have MCE2005. Do you use GBPVR more than MCE?

MixMan, did you correct this yet? The link in the first post gives me a corrupt .zip file in either I.E. or Firefox.

If you are still having connection problems can you post code fixes?
I am not smart enough yet to fix things on my own Sad

I have updated the BaseSkin in the first post
Now with another "SkinPack" MCE2 BlueGold.

The "skin structure" is getting better every day.
I think it finished soon.

If anyone want to contribute with graphical designs, translation or with other information, you are welcome.
Best Regards
