After applying the patch and setting the bda mux to cyberlink, it does record the file in .mpg. However, playback of the recording is very poor - lots of studdering and skipping. I switched back to dvr-ms and recorded a sample - everything is fine during play back.

CR
I just set the the Misc tab BDA mux to "Cyberlink" and I'm now getting .mpg files realtime!.
Seems that you've done the right thing - I have no clue to what it might be...

Its probably the version of the Cyberlink Mux you're using.

Post the output from MuxChecker and I'll advise.

Try downloading the newer v5.0.1307 mux to see if it helps. Use the forum search to find it.

Deregister the existing one before registering v5.0.1307, otherwise it'll continue to use older one.

Sub, thanks for the suggestion with the newer version of cyberlink mux; however, it did not help - I re-registered and bdamux checker found it. but mpg recording/playback is horrible compared to recording with .dvr-ms.

Probably related to this jacked up Dvico Fusion card/BDA driver.

Sub,
Thanks so much for creating the patch. Now I can record in mpeg, however, I have the stutter problem. CPU usage is low during playback, but the video stutters anyway. I have tried three different versions of cyberlink mux, with the same result.

GBPVR is not able to convert dvr-ms to mpeg, which means, I can never get comskip to run on my ATSC recordings, since it does not support dvr-ms.

Did you try manually running GBPVRConvert with different versions of the Cyberlink mux? I was able to convert the sample video file you sent me without any problems.

I've been trying about everything too. GbpvrConvert.exe stalls out at about 1.7 GB through a 4.5 GB .dvr-ms file. Nothing in the logs that looks strange - it just stops - no error. I've tried it with three different versions of cyberlink mux.
