It says this in the native log (from the first post):

16:29:00.312 INFO Starting graph...
16:29:00.343 INFO Unexpected error starting graph...

Is this an error message from the Hauppauge driver?

I found a new beta driver from Hauppauge which promised to fix an error that sounded similar to the one from my log: "Start DVB Recorder, Unknown Error". - Unfortunately it didn't help.

sub, could you please add the feature to start the machine a few seconds ahead of recording? That would be great!

Thanks
chris

It should already start a minute before the pre-padding of the recording kicks in.

I just found out that it isn't the resume from standby after all - I got the error today while the pc was running.

Too bad I can't get rid of this error. I really liked GBPVR a lot.

How about trying the change to SQL? I know you said you didn't want to but I can't see that it would be a huge issue - especially if you get to keep GBPVR!!

I'd try that but I don't see how it could help. I think the errors went away after I did a repair & compress on the mdb (however I am not currently on my pc so I can't check).

Can anyone explain or point me to a post about this 'graph' and what it does?

A 'graph' is the generic name for the Directshow tree of objects that are all connected up to perform a recording. In the case of the Nova-SE2, the graph would contain the Nova Tuner and Capture filters, the Microsoft MPEG2 Demultiplexer, the GB-PVR Psi Parser and the mux filter you're using (Cyberlink MPEG Muxer or Microsoft DVR-MS mux).

If it failed to start the graph, then it'll typically mean either the Nova device failed to start producing a stream of data to flow through that graph, or it return some sort of error when trying to initialise the device.

sub, is there something I can do to diagnose the problem?

I've been running MediaPortal for the last week to see if I can reproduce the problem (maybe get a better error message) - but so far the error has failed to show up in MP.

The difference in the MP config is that it only allows to use the Microsoft DVR-MS muxer (never used that in GBPVR because I need mpegs).

Could the muxer be the cause of my problems? What muxer would you recommend?

Thanks.
