Ah... I wrote utility to check all the sequence headers, and I see it changes from 59.94 fps to 29.97 part way into the recording. Well, thats damn annoying...

Any further progress on this?

I've disabled ComSkip as it is useless in this state.

I'm running purely ATSC and usually have my recordings set to high quality.

While initially testing GBPVR with a Hauppauge PVR500 card (analog), I was very pleased with ComSkip detection and was able to use the automatic commercial skip function with virtually no "misguesses" by ComSkip.

Sub - could this have something to do with the fact that many US TV stations switch between multiple formats depending on their source?

For instance, the network show may be full 1080i, but there is a noticable "glitch" and format / aspect change when the local station cuts in with a lower resolution local commercial break.

There would have to be a way to detect frame rate changes and adjust the timing appropriately... I don't know if this would be a ComSkip issue or GBPVR, or both.

It is not a Comskip issue, but a GB-PVR issue

I'm not sure what version of comSkip it is, but I just downloaded it a few days ago in an attempt to resolve the issue.

I saw the last post by Sub about it being a frame rate issue, so I thought I'd chime in with my 10-cent-theory and to see if anything had been discovered yet.

I guess I'll stand by until there is more news on this!

No I havnt done anything about it. The problem only occurs if the frame rate changes midway through the recording.

Yes, it could have happened with any version of comskip. Its just something GB-PVR doesnt cope with.

The frame rate change is only possible for ATSC digital users though, and even then may not terribly common. Analog users wouldnt have this problem.

If it's rare, then I'm not sure why it happens on every one of my ATSC recordings...

Sub - If you need files and logs to fix this, let me know.

This is a great app and I want to do whatever I can to help!
