Success! The latest patch allows me to scan both satellites (Diseqc A and B); both polarities and both bands. I think now GBPVR may be the only media center that is BDA-diseqc compliant, excellent work, sub.

For now, I am very happy!

I am missing the '0'-vpid channels unfortunately - not that I was desperate to record the 47th repeat of jacka** on MTV but some important others are missing, too (TV5, BBC World etc). In fact, the channels do not really have a VPID of 0 as per the listings on Any chance off adding such channels manually?

I still have some problems with crashes on Astra 2, but that may be signal related, as I have similar trouble with WinTV. I made a stripped down transponder list for the essential channels, but I have crashes also when just watching.

Thanks again

I am aware of a problem that can cause some channels to not have the PMT not read correctly, which might be the cause of this. I am working on this at the moment.

After getting everything sorted (DVB-EPG for Astra 1, XMLTV for Astra 2 - BBC & ITV), I have successfully recorded and watched a number of shows.

Still, live tv or recordings won't work off Astra 2 channels. I either get a no signal message or a crash (e. g. ITV 1, Sky news, Film 4, BBC1, BBC NEWS 24) after few seconds. Signal readings are -2899 or better, quality always 100% - no different from Astra 1.

Interestingly, all work in preview mode in the the config/channel mapping application.

Logs are attached - any ideas?

Nonetheless, I am extremely happy and about to donate. The best news is that GBPVR is wife-compatible after about 5 mins of explaining what an EPG is and how recordings can be scheduled and played.

Thanks again!

When you get a crash, what type of crash is it? What happens exactly?

I can watch a few seconds of TV, then it just closes and gives me this box:

Rough translation

"There has been a problem with GBPVR which must be closed now. If you haven't saved your work, you may have lost all your money".

Any clues?

Does a file get created in c:\windows\minidump when this occurs?

Me neither. I carefully searched the forums, read this thread. Tried to look, which codec or whatnot caused the crash. Checked all event logs: nothing. When trying to reproduce the crashes, it was not GBPVR that failed, but me reproducing (the crash).

Ev'thing seems to work right now.

Well, no longer. Crashes again on live TV, but does recordings. I still only have this behaviour on Astra 2 channels. What and and how else can I log to make the cause visible somehow?

Replacing two XP files with MCE files fixed it. There was some discussion on this board as well, but I can't find the topic anymore.

Now GBPVR appears to be rock solidSmile
