How can I make MusicPlayer 2 the default music player so that the 'Music' button on my MediaMVP remote will jump straight to it?

Steve.

Edit the tage named<DefaultPluginMusic> in the config.xml and set it to MusicLibrary2

[quoye]Edit the tage named<DefaultPluginMusic> in the config.xml and set it to MusicLibrary2[/quote]

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm afraid I've already tried that and it doesn't seem to do anything (at least, not with the MVP).

It should do. I've changed my default video plugin on my one to a plugin. And ML2 comes up when I hit my music button, MVP or Server.

Steve.

There is something strange with the tags. I did it first exactly as you described here. However you need to have a space between Music and Library2 (<DefaultPluginMusic>Music Library2</DefaultPluginMusic>). This is strange, because in an other place in the config.xml there is no space in that tag.
Hope this helps

Here's mine from home:
Code:
<DefaultPluginMusic>Music Library2</DefaultPluginMusic>

Same as yours.

Hmm, I know I use the button on the pc to start up music. I'll try tonight with the button on the mvp - it's not something used often and I may just navigate to it the 1 or 2 times I try it.

Thanks for the update. I am really pleased about the option to not show "All". It's just too dangerous to risk queueing the whole collection.

I do have a problem and a question.

Problem: I just downloaded the latest from the wiki - hope it includes your patch - and now when I select any Artist or Album which contains a single quote character, the subordinate panes are empty (if All is selected it is OK). So Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory has no tracks displayed. It is all there and in the Database of course.

This problem is a bit like one that GBPVR itself has. If a Channel Name has a single quote character in it then it fails to pick up the Channel Logo from disk even if the name is identical. I guess that some common string handling routine is responsible for this behaviour. Perhaps strings get truncated. I have had this in some interpreted languages.

Question: At home I now have a dedicated GBPVR machine, but my master music collection is held on another "always on" machine. I decided that the best design was to replicate the music on the PVR, with the added advantage that I get a backup of the collection. The PVR wakes up in the night, collects the program guide, installs it in GBPVR, and updates the local copy of the music. It also gets any new versions of scripts and ships logs back to my server before going back to sleep (hibernate). Is there any way that I can ask ML2 to update its database on demand at this point? I can have GBPVR running or not, as necessary. Are any methods exposed that I can invoke via scripting or some other means?

Thanks again.
Mel.

Afaik, in plugins-musiclibrary2-settings you can set the update time etc. It's on the media/library collections tab.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

I don't think so. It gives the update frequency. Anyway, what I really want is that the update occurs at a specific point in the overnight script. I cannot guarantee the time and don't want the machine having to wake up multiple times. It would be better (at least for me) if I could just say "do it now please".

If Psycik says "no" then I suppose I could just update the database myself, but I don't really want to mess with other peoples databases.
