I think this Vista VirtualStore stuff is going to create many really confusing issues.

Sub' s right. If I tell the XMLTV prog to save data.xml file to somewhere outside the program files directory and point the config file at this new location, then the channels are updated as they should. Leason learned: Don't save files in Program Files any more.

So if anyone else is running Vista, can't get any channels and is using XMLTV, follow sub's advise can save your grabbed TV listings OUTSIDE the program files directory.

I'd like to thanks stefan for his input, he certainly put me on the right track initially and of coarse the legend that is sub for tirelessly tackling the problem until he found a solution. You guys both rock!
