its just slow in general, Its slow to load the webpage up to begin with,

I`m only trying the options, so for example I tried streaming a program I recorded which was in mpeg2. Also to open and view pictures is extremely slow.

Thanks for any advice

Have you installed VLC and setup your port for streaming (on router)? - this port needs to be different from EWA - see here for details

Edit: You can change the streaming port and other EWA settings in the config tab of the Web application

Edit2: I had problems with my upload speed with my previous broadband provider - you could try running a speed test.. (google)

It's probably your upsteam bandwith. If it's cable, you probably have very low upstream (64 or 128kbps max) which is 8KB/s to 16KB/s. You can use http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ to test your up and down speeds.

That would be my guess as well.......what is your up-stream speed provided by your ISP.

Is the GBPVR host PC hooked into the network via Hardwire or Wireless?

What stream settings are you using?

Its hardwired in, I think it is an issue with my ISP, I`ve been having problems with them for a long time, I think its time for a change and go with a decent ISP provider

Ok....at a minumum you should have 256k up speed to stream....but with that you will have to use a lower bitrate and smaller video size to get decent performance.

I have Verizon's FIOS fiber with 2mb up and it sails without an issue.... Big Grin

That's awesome. A coworker and I looked into it after I saw your post. We're looking for faster up-speeds (because we run various servers) and... they're not at all in Ohio Sad
