Any idea why my GPU is so high? Could any other factors influence this? Perhaps my capture card?

have you tried another codec? it all sounds like a muddled setup...

yes. unlikely. you can check this very easy. do a recording & check CPU load. should be ok. when finished, play that recording with another player (WMP should have the same behaviour like GBPVR / VLC for a comparision) & check CPU/GPU load.

I tried virtually every codec out there. The setup is pretty straighforward.

Sub, what decoder are you using for SD playback - Video and Audio?

With an x1050 graphics, maybe not. A key thing for me was seeing that GBPVR was the ONLY program doing this with the GPU. If you have Zoomplayer or Media Player Classic or some other DirectShow player (not VLC), if the GPU acts the same in those then you know it's happening not just in GBPVR. Mine was happening only in GBPVR.

edit: oops, forgot about your card upgrade. The rest still applies, though: does it do it in your other DirectShow players?
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

Do you get different GPU usage playing recordings in other players?

you're mixing it up here. i'm the one with the x1050 & having no problems. haven't checked GPU load till now but never had a problem on my system (which is a few years old & definitely not comparable with his setup regarding performance Wink)
interesting tidbit of info, it should not be different in WMP & GBPVR when they use the same codecs

I did try MediaPortal and the GPU usage was a bit lower, closer to 30% with the same decoder. Although there was no stutter in MP, the quality was not as good and sports seemed to suffer when panning, sometimes. Kind of like a light judder. The quality of GBPVR seems to be quite a bit better.

I'll try more players tonight to see the difference in GPU. In ZoomPlayer and MPC, can I choose the decoder, or will it pick up the default if I use DECCHECK?
