No. Its a Windows thing, not an external filter.

I was afraid of that. Well I will try reinstalling DirectX and hope that fixes the problem but I have a nasty feeling it won't...

Any ideas on how I can help narrow it down to the "why"?

I just ran BDA Muxchecker and it returned:

NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE.

GB-PVR will not function correctly unless you have WinXP SP1 or higher, which has a built-in DVR-MS mux filter.

Even though I have the Microsoft one selected.

Edit: NM I found the link that basically says not to worry about what it says.

Could this possibly be a driver issue?

Have you seen the device working with any software on your machine?

I have not been able to get the QAM tuner working with any other software BUT BeyondTV seriously dislikes Vista64 and I was barely able to get the Analog tuner running (and BTV has issues with QAM tuners). The only other software I have played with is CTpVr which doesn't even seem to work with my Analog tuner and they aren't responding to posts.

I suspect its not in a functioning with any software.

I'm not really sure what to suggest, but hopefully you'll find a way to fix it.
