I'm using 25032, with pending upgrade to whatever is on the prerelease 4.1 CD.
I'm in the process of rebuilding my pvr system on a spare disk when it's not in use to make it a dedicated machine without all the assorted crap that accumulates.
Even though I have my own timeline problems, I've not seen your skipping. You haven't accidentally got one of the nova-t-500 TD things have you? I've of nasties with those.

I've got two Nova-t 500's running in two separate machines with the same driver as you.

Did you ever try installing the supplied wintv software and testing recordings with that?

EDIT: As a last resort, would it be possible to install the card in your dev machine

I was awake in the night, and i wondered about testing with WinTV... so I'll do that.

Now that IS a plan... I've try when I'm back from london, I'm working on a client site for 3 days now so I've have to wait to try both.

To me, it looks ok - I was hoping the guy with the previous TD problem would pop up. Not easy to search on here for two character strings.

Hopefully more will be learnt when it's tried in an alternate machine and/or with wintv.

Right. Tested with WINTV and it's still happening, I'm coming to the conclusion that the card might be faulty...

I've moving it into my dev machine as see what it's like.

The other thing,I've found it the machine reboots 4 times, 2 minutes after the EPG update starts(4 am), (EPG via DVB) and it reboots again 3 more times, then the machine is fine for another 24 hours.

So I'm going to remove the Nova 500T and test in another machine

You tried different decoders? I use purevideo. I also use dvr-ms which I found played back with no skips.

I'm using the PURE decoders already... and the recording process produces skipping files regardless if I select DVR-MS or Cyberlink etc....

I've also tried the recorded file on my laptop, workstation, my wife's machine and the DVD player in the bedroom (which has an ehternet card it in) and they all jump at the same place.... hence why I think it's the card.

Out of interest what drivers and hauppage software are you using ???

Hello Once Again.

and here's what I now know...

I believe I have found my problem (thanks to the wife and kids being away for the night) I have swap around my pc's TV cards and hardware until I have located the problem but the answer is a problem..

Both NOVA 500T work fine in my Dev machine with good signal from the Ariel. Tested using both GBPVR and WINTV from hauppage. the only machine which has a issue is the lounge machine with either Nova 500T. Difference is the case. my dev machine is physically identical to my tv server in the lounge except the case. my office / dev machine is a £22 case from AUT Direct, the lounge a £195 silverstone tek case.

The Silverstone case has a riser card which return the PCI slots 90 degrees to allow the cards to fit inside the case.... I have proved that it's this riser.... if I remove the motherboard from the Silverstone case, and run it on the desk 'Heath Robinson' style... all my problems go away..... add in the riser.... and I'm back to where I started....

so Over to Silverstone forum for a fight over crap implementation of a riser card fight....

Just thought you'd like to know....

I'm delighted to hear that you've got to the bottom of this... although sorry it hasn't really solved your problem...

Still, it does make the point that not all problems are caused by codecs and muxs - you can simply get duff hardware... it would be nice to know if you get anywhere with Silverstone.

One last thought and definitely a very long shot - did you ever try the card from your dev machine on the silverstone riser?
