isgdre, you're welcome. I could not test it because my hauppauge remote is broken so there was a certain amount of guesswork.
I guess it would be nice if the sub could change the window class to something that makes sense to a human, like I am typing this message in a 'MozillaWindowClass' [Image: biggrin.gif]

If you could post your irremote.ini stuff then it could be put onto the wiki.

The classname was something that was used often for standard Win32 API applications. The .net SDK and C# dont really use classnames, and infact make it difficult to set.

If developer with more time want to send me a C# sample that sets the classname, then I'll set GB-PVR to a more sensible name.

Hi Sub,

I found something here.

I don't really care about the window name, but it is not always the same, which is annoying if you try to send a message to it.

Btw, just for reference, is the list of GBPVR codes I gave still correct and complete? Or are codes like F1 (osd guide) and F7 possible via hauppauge remote?

That sample doesnt do the job. I tried a similar approach when I looked into it in the past. You need to find a sample that also registers a custom classname.

Yes, this is normal. Its just the default behaviour of the .net framework. With .net, you dont normally do anything with the window classname, and its all automatic behind the scenes. You get no control over what the name is, and whether it changes.

Bump - just wanted to move this back up the tree as I'm invested in getting the .ini so I can have this functionality.

I'm having the same problem but I have no idea what hansi is saying at the top of page 3 that has isgdre all excited and working. But thanks for the information and support! I'm sorry I'm not bright enough to understand it :p

Is it possible this same problem might be causing another problem I have: If I exit livetv with my PVR-150 remote GB-PVR freezes up on me, but "escape" on the keyboard works fine?

CaptainVideo, I'm sorry but I can't test it because my Hauppauge remote is broken. It is really up to isgdre to post what he has done, as he has promised anyway. Let's just give it some time.
Your other problem doesn't sound related to me, because it looks like the remote code gets to GBPVR. I guess you'd better start a seperate thread on that one and give a bit more info (which remote, which button, etc.).

hansi, according to your post we've been waiting since SeptemberWink

isgdre! If you are subscribed to this thread, please tell us how you got it working!

btw, I got the exiting-out-of-live-TV freeze problem using "escape" on the keyboard the other night. Drats! Another problem to figure out.

One extra tip:- I found that sometimes GBPVR doesn't get focus, so in the [default] section of the irremote.ini I have:-

;GRNPOWER starts GBPVR and brings it to front
GRNPOWER={run(c:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe)}{sleep(500)}{findwnd(,GB-PVR)}{fgnwnd()}
;GO brings GBPVR to front (just in case it loses focus?)
GO={findwnd(,GB-PVR)}{fgnwnd()}

I also have GRNPOWER set to {alt}{f4} in the [GB-PVR] section so I can exit GBPVR if necessary, just in case of a lockup or whatever, but don't really need it.
