Code:
[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=Red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-0]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=1
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-0
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

[Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-1]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=1
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-1
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0

Change the red highlighted portion to match the device ID of your HDHomeRun.

Nope, those are mine. They are on the bottom of my tuner. I get all of the channels within the HomeRun QuickTV app and within the HomeRun setup. I've got it downloading the right EPG as well.

But when I select "live TV" or try to play anything out of the program guide, it just freezes for a few seconds, and then retuns back to that main menu or the program guide.

we're soooooooo close....

Besides occasional crashes that are probably due to my codec/videodrivers (PVR crashes not the recording service) GBPVR has worked well with HDHR.

Just wanted to give you and Sub a pat on the back and say thanks!!

...I'll second that, since I know we're close. This is one of the best support forums that I've been a part of. Very knowledgable help. Lots of hand holding for us dummies.

Ah, you are right. You must changed the entries for sub's device when you edited your bda.ini (which is why I thought it was sub's device ID). GBPVR is then trying to tune using a DVB-C configuration instead of ATSC. Do a search of the file for your device ID and you will find the following intries:

Code:
[HDHomeRun Tuner #1]
TUNING_TYPE=[color=Red][B]DVB-C[/B][/color]
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-0
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

[HDHomeRun Tuner #2]
TUNING_TYPE=[color=red][B]DVB-C[/B][/color]
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner [color=red][B]10184B11[/B][/color]-1
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

Change those two IDs back to "12101040" (sub's device ID). Restart Config. Select "Show only connected devices" and it will just show your entries or scroll all the way to the bottom of the list. Your entries are the ones I posted on the last page.

Woot!! We are up and running. I can't believe how frustrating it was. I'll try recording tomorrow, but I was able to watch Live TV and go to a program from the EPG.

Phew!

Thanks so much for the help. When I'm clearheaded tomorrow or later in the week, I'd like to help you possibly reword the QAM guide or maybe a specific step by step for the non-techie users who want some serious handholding? I think it was just a few things that I did out of order that had me going in circles.

Awesome. That's exactly what the guide needs.

This thread has had so many people with the same problem that I'm having. It is encouraging that some people have gotten this to work.
I believe I have correctly implemented the settings that have been discussed here to no avail. As soon as the Digital Channel Mapping screen opens I immediately get the error "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured..." The error from the log file that seems to the culprit is: "Error starting preview window: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I can view all the channels correctly using the VLC player from the HDHR applications.

I hope you guys can get a chance to take a look at the attached bda and log files maybe you can see what I'm doing wrong.

Which version of Windows are you running? It looks like your computer is missing the TV Tuning Spaces in the registry.

Code:
2009-12-16 00:04:41.464    ERROR    Could not CoCreate SystemTuningSpaces
2009-12-16 00:04:42.041    ERROR    Cannot create the ATSC locator failed

You can try opening the HDHomeRun Setup application, click the "Advanced" tab, then click the "Repair" button. This will repair the BDA drivers and hopefully restore the Tuning Spaces.

I don't think Server 2008 has the necessary media capabilities. Somebody did kind of a "how to" for Server 2003 or 2008. You might be able to search the forum for it.

Edit: Here is the thread. I don't know if he ever got it fully working. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?p=336827
