No, just add that line in the bda.ini file.

In spite of the fact that I am returning this card for the remote conflict discussed in this thread:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38553

.. I spent some time trying to get this to work properly for the benefit of the community given that I feel we're getting close and because Sub is knocking it out of the park on support, as always. Unfortunately the best I could do was when it allowed me to use one tuner for analog and one for digital. Numbering the devices differently definitely plays a role but I was not able to get the logic down even after enumerating all the possible combinations. I have attached the logs from my least-unsuccessful attempt.

Ordering an HVR-1600. : )

As far as I can tell, its doing all the correct stuff now, but looks like your channel mappings are setup funny. For example,

Quote:2008-11-03 18:35:52.046 VERBOSE [1] Looking for capture source to record: The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer
2008-11-03 18:35:52.046 VERBOSE [1] Possible capture device: DEVICE:Hauppauge PVR250:1
2008-11-03 18:35:52.046 VERBOSE [1] Possible capture device: DEVICE:Hauppauge PVR250:2
2008-11-03 18:35:52.046 VERBOSE [1] Possible capture device: DEVICE:Hauppauge HVR2250:2
This patricular channel was available on the two PVR250 capture sources and "Hauppauge HVR2250:2" but not on "Hauppauge HVR2250:1", so it wouldnt have been able to record there. This list is only related to the channel being associated with the capture device, checking if it already has a recording at that time happens later.

That's definitely possible... everything was getting a little blurry toward the end with all the things I was trying. I was literally pulling the card out of my box while you wrote back, so hopefully if someone else gets an HVR-2250 this thread will be helpful.

If yours doesnt seem to follow this order, ten there is a bug that some people have in their database that can cause the order to not show correctly, or update correctly when you use the buttons. To correct, use a tool like SQLiteSpy to execute the following update on your gbpvr.db3 file..

update CAPTURE_SOURCE set allocation_order=oid

---

Okay. I'm just getting to this because I just installed 1.3.7. I had deleted my analog sources and just added them back in. I'm still having the same issue. I installed SQLiteSpy. I see the execute SQL option but they are grayed out. How do I issue this command?

---
Another question. Do I need to update by bda.ini with the new:

SHARED_NAME=Hauppauge HVR2250

line?

---

Do I need to mess with any of the capture device features? Or just install 2 digital and 2 analog devices?

I'm pretty sure this wasnt required in 1.3.7 when setting up new capture sources (old ones might still have this broken).

If you do need to do this though, run SQLiteSpy, open gbpvr.db3, then post that SQL statement in the top right window, then press F9 to execute it. After that you should be good to go.

If you're using QAM, then yes, I think you need to add this. I'd forgotten to add this line in the default bda.ini file for the QAM device.

I'm not sure what you mean. Just setup 2 analog and 2 digital capture sources.

Sorry if I'm being dense here, I've searched all the threads but don't see the answer. I'm setting up a new 2250, I want 2 analog and 2 digital. I've got v 1.3.7, when I set these 4 capture sources up are they all Board #1? (Under the Recording Source Settings). Also, I setup 2 separate program lineups at Schedules Direct, and the Analog tuner capture sources are showing _all_ the channels from both lineups, even though they will only be able to tune in the 1st 99 channels. Do I have to manually disable all the digital channels or will GBPVR know that they can't record, e.g. channel 416?
Lastly, if I've read correctly, 1.3.7 still has the issue of not recognizing that if a digital tuner is recording on a 2250 then there's only one analog tuner available, not two?

Thanks again!

Since its a dual tuner card you need to have an analog and digital source for #1, and an analog and digital source for #2.

You can either disable the channels you're not using on that capture source, or in the field where you enter the schedules direct username, you can add a semicolon, followed by the schedule direct lineup ID. This will cause it to only load the channels from one of the lineups on your schedule direct account.

If you add that .ini line mentioned above, then there shouldnt be any problems.

Thanks for the reply. For some reason I was unable to selectively load lineups from Schedules Direct, but by using the lineup manager on their website I got the # of channels down to a reasonable number. Everything seems to be working, now I need to educate myself on the complexities of working with digital broadcasts and MVPs!

Cheers -

OK - I am having hell with this card. What should be in my Device manager? All I have is a single entry named Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 (8880) under the Sound, Video, and Game controllers entry. Is this correct?
