I could not get them to load, hcwclear broke the Windows BDA. I used the HDHomeRun Setup to repair the Windows BDA installation and then I was able to get the drivers from the CD to load. Using the CD drivers, I was finally able to get QAM in both GBPVR and WinTV.
Will, what's the driver version of the cd that came with your 2250? I had a problem getting drivers to install but it was fixed when I edited the registry to match the hardware ID but I wonder if using HDHR to fix the BDA might not be a bad idea for me.
Finally, when you have time, try back to back and dual recordings with the analog side of the 2250 and see if you have any problems. With older drivers I get blue screens (not BSD's) of short files and also see blue screens when switching channels.

My cd had the 4/16 (or is it 4/19? Not at home right now). I'll test the analog when I get home and let you know.

That did it, whurlston. The shared name was missing in the QAM section. So...now I'm running 2 2250 on one machine. I'll be adding my PVR350 card later so that I can record from my STB for HBO, Starz, etc. I'll have you know that scanning for QAM channels 4 times took a long time when I only have 4 channels in digital. I recommend scanning once and then copying the channel string out to notepad so you can paste them in on the other cards.

I downloaded the 4.7 drivers from Hauppauge's site, ran the hwclear and then reinstalled the drivers and so far, it's finding QAM channels for the 2250 but I have the same problems others have had....no picture, just sound.
I'm going to check the HDHR now and see what happens. At least I'm getting somewhere but what I don't understand is why if the older drivers work, won't the more recent ones. Why put out drivers that go backwards for so many?

If you change MPEG2 Video decoders does it work?

I couldn't answer that one. I would never have guessed it was a bug introduced by the new drivers. I'll report this to SHS so he can pass it on to Hauppauge (sub is pretty busy so I'm delegating Big Grin).

I've got back to back dual recordings scheduled for 5-6 EST. I'll report my results.

Never had to do anything but shut down GBPVR and started it back and the previews and QAM works now. Still can't get anything with HDHR and GBPVR which is strange since it picks up everything.
So, I'm assuming since XP works for me with pre release drivers and Vista works with older drivers, it's another one of the mysteries of Vista. I had tried these and other drivers originally but I think your suggestion of using HDHR to rebuild the BDA.inf file was the key. Much thanks for that suggestion. Wink

Glad to hear it.

For the HDHR, try disabling the dynamic tuner filter. If you still can't find channels, zip and post your config logs in the support or hardware forums showing a scan. Also include your scan cache file for the 2250 so I have something to compare.

Do you HAVE TO have HDHR set to GBPVR as the application? Shouldn't it still work even if it's set to another app such as Media Center if the bda.ini file has the appropriate info?

Yeah, it needs to be set to GBPVR. You could set it to ATSC/Remap but you would need to use the old remapping process with the 69 channel limit but you would lose the multirecord feature of GBPVR.
