Are all tv tuners the same? Please recommend a good capture card to capture

Choose Package Type="Limited Basic". Are you telling me that Comcast has unencrypted channels that aren't available in the Limited Basic package, and that all I may have to do is to change the coax cable from my PVR-150 to my HVR-1250? Comcast has to be aware of this, otherwise they are fools -- unless they figure it's better to give some free channels out rather than fix their service because most people would never figure out this "trick".

I connected my Comcast coax cable to my HVR-1250, added a Comcast Digital lineup to SchedulesDirect, changed the settings to point to its url, updated epg, then scanned channels. None were found. Did I do this right? If so, then that means I can't receive any digital channels over my coax cable.

Zip and post your config.exe and config.exe-native logs after running a scan.

Interesting. It only scanned up to channel 69 but it should have scanned higher. It also should have found channels in the range that it did scan.

Can you try a manual scan of the following frequency: 181250

Let me know if it finds anything.

With 69 channels is it possible that you are scanning the ATSC device and not the QAM device?

Doh! I misread a line in the logs. Yes, it seems that the ATSC device is selected:

Here is screenshots of my HVR-1250 settings. Should I have changed it to the second item in the dropdown "HVR-1250MCE (QAM)"?

Yeah, you need to select the QAM option.

Just got around to doing this. All of the non-basic cable package channels are encrypted.
