Usually the issue is the background.jpg file is missing from the skin\blue\ folder (since sub no longer distributes it.)

Also, the plugin files need to be located into a sub-folder under the \plugins folder.

Will be much later tonight for me to try things out.

I'd forgotten that they have slightly different directory structures. Looking at me old 99.12 install, plug ins just have the dll in the plugin directory, no sub folders at all. Hopefully that's not hard coded somewhere in the plugin.

No it shouldn't be, it is a change within gbpvr and is seemless with legacy plugins.

the latest version was jukebox2, updated and re-written by Dave Cameron in 2007, if you don't have it let me know and I can send it to you.

nightwalker I read your post on Homeseer and what is wrong with sub's basic player as a non-database player? The default is a jukebox style player when you hit Ctrl-Play or click play at high level folder. At a bottom level folder the play all will play in alpha order.

Sorry, but after scanning the wiki and forums, it must not be a posted plugin? You can email it to my address in my profile, or post a link (or PM) to where I can download it.

Yeah, Homeseer has a real weakness with music. At one time I had 4 touch screens running HomeSeer Touch around the house. I've reduced that to one in the last 6 months and instead run GBpvr on them, just for music.

There is nothing specifically wrong with Sub's, it works. It is however on the clunky side, not easy for those unfamiliar with it to get it going, especially guests. It's also tough for those with large collections. It doesn't do the roll over so going up and down long lists can be a pain. Also it has no way to exclude folders from playing, kiddie songs popping up at an adult party never goes over well and I almost never do that Christmas in July thing. Smile

That's how I remember it, I will admit I haven't touched it in 2 years so maybe it's improved. I guess I just have an affinity for how the jukebox plug-in worked, easy and intuitive yet powerful. We have a lot of guests and music is always a big part of things. It's nice when I can allow guests to just pick up a remote on their own and play something, rarely do I need to give any instructions. If no songs are played it goes back to playing randomly until someone picks one and it plays it. It's been a big hit here for a very long time.

Granted, I just made sure it would display. Didn't go any further than that.

#1) Create a folder under \skin\blue called _Coreimages

gbpvr\skin\blue\_Coreimages

Place a file called background.jpg there. It can be anything you want, or copy it from previous blue.
[EDIT] and a file called ListIcon_Folder.png

The skin was looking for that file location.

#2) Create a folder called Jukebox2 (or whatever you want) under gbpvr\plugins

gbpvr\plugins\Jukebox2

#3) move Jukebox2.dll to this folder.

#4) download and replace skin.xml in the gbpvr\skin\blue\Jukebox2 folder with this file...[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

Any errors you may recieve, zip and attach your logs after reproducing errors.

The old skin.xml file was looking for elements of the old baseskin.xml file which is no longer distributed as well. I broke this association in the new file.

Good luck.
