WHS isn't really a client O/S I don't know the current state but it didn't even include an MPEG-2 demux at one point. Even DirectShow isn't officially supported. Also you should right directly to a shared folder so if you are sharing C:\Program Files you shouldn't be writing to it (which is a bit awkward for GBPVR)

I'm trying to set it up as a server to stream the tv to the other computers in the network. Have i missed something in the config?

More basics ...

GBPVR uses ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectShow

The recording service builds a graph that connects the TV tuner to a filter that writes a file to disk and this file is the recording. PVRX2 builds a graph that connects the recording file to a render filter that displays the video on screen.

All this graph building relies on software magic from Microsoft that may (or may not) be missing from your server.

It is possible to run the recording service on one computer and PVRX2 on the same computer and on any number of other computers.

My recommendation would be to get GBPVR working on a machine running "proper" Windows (XP, Vista, 7) then get PVRX2 working on a second "proper" machine, then try PVRX2 on the machine that is currently failing and then use the knowledge gained to decide where to go.

WHS has been mentioned in other posts tho' I can't remember the outcomes. You could try searching the forum and starting a new thread with "Windows Home Server" in the title.
