Northpole - if you do work out a way to maximize the use of screen realestate then please let me know if you need someone to beta test. I have a feeling that a skin that can do this would be pretty popular.

I second the idea of creating an option to maximize screen realestate. Especially in the TV listings and Recordings/video lists. Nothing more annoying than having to scroll endlessly with a remote. I should also point out that I and many others use UltraXMLTV enhancer, so some times the show description contains additional information that requires an extra line or two (e.g., actor names and such). Currently, most of my shows with this additional space have the very last line cut off (actually shows but with only the tops of the taller letters...see screenshot.

Posted an update for the skin. Changes include a large TV Guide listings and an additional screen line for longer descriptions.

Also, there are two additional background images that can be used instead of the default .jpg image. To use a different image, simply rename the desired .jpg to "background.jpg", place it in the NextBlue skin subdirectory and npvr will use that image. (see first post for current version)

Northpole - this is really good. 10 Channels in the TV Guide ! I like it !

I still have the issue with the time cutting off in the top right corner. Is it possible to fix this for those of us whose wives will not let them get rid of the old 4:3 TV Smile If not no issue I can tweak it as per the note above.

Just use the zoom and offset settings on the 'General' settings screen to adjust your display.

XJW,

If subs fix doesn't do it, then try your previously mentioned fix to global.xml with this line:

<Element name="DateTime" location="70,0" size="29,5" alpha="230">

I'll make a permanent change for the next update.

Thanks.

Hi Sub, I tried all combinations of zoom and offset from +20 to -20 but it had no effect. I also tried exiting and restarting NPVR between setting changes. No luck Sad Let me know if I have missed something.

Northpole,

I have been playing with the setttings and this seems to look best.

<Element name="DateTime" location="69,0" size="30,5" alpha="230">

This is adding 5 to the size and subtracting 5 from the location relative to the original settings. I think you spotted the error in my previous post where I had added 5 to the size and subtracted 4 from the location. Oops. Anyhow, after playing with the settings for a while the above looks pretty good on my old 4:3 box.

And many thanks for your enhancements to the skin.
