I found and ran the FilterCheck program. I've attached the FilterCheck Log file from Win 7.
If you look back through your posts, you'll see you've only posted one set of logs; I have no idea which system they were from. You also haven't posted the filtercheck log either.

if one were to follow the instructions I posted in the sticky, all the dll's and .ax files would be in the same directory. that's also how they are if WinTV7 is installed - they're all together in a directory called "SoftPVR"

Well, lots of us can't install Wintv7 because we don't have a device supported by it, but still need the SoftPVR files. I'v even seen unexperienced users register an .ax and later delete the whole directory beleiving that windows has made a copy of it.

Hence why the instructions are there in the support sticky - you get all the needed softpvr files without ever running an installer.

I can see the Hauppauge device in the Device Manager on the XP machine (the machine to which it is currently connected) as a "sound, video, and game controller". On the same machine, the Win TV 6 application works fine. And on the same machine, there are no devices on the Devices page of the Settings program.

Not sure what to try next. It is puzzling that this is happening on BOTH of my machines (XP and Win 7).

View the devices screen, then post the npvr.log again.

Can you update the existing file with this patch. Unplug your capture device and plug it back in, then start the app, view the devices screen, then repost the npvr.log file?
