crashing while trying to browse movies

I'm not sure why, but after testing, it seems my login scripts, and domain GPOs don't seem to be affecting NPVR at all. The only thing that seems to cause it to crash is running it from a domain account instead of a local account. Does anyone have any idea why this would be?

Maybe something to do with the permissions on your media files or something.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure it out.. looks like actually every time I create any new account domain or local, it crashes when using that account. This is the same joined to the domain or disjoined. I'm imaging it back to before it was ever joined to my domain, and I am going to see what happens then.

I started from a brand new installation again with nothing else done to the system. I only installed drivers, DirectX 9, Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, NPVR, and SAF5 codec pack. It seems to be working fine with the account I was using, but after creating another local administrator account and trying that one, it started crashing again when playing certain mpg videos. I switched back to the original account (the one I set everything up in), and it worked fine again. I went back to the new account and reinstalled the SAF5 codec pack, and it seems this account now works fine. I never knew the codecs didn't install system wide, because it seems there is something needed by the installation in each user profile, I'm just not sure what it was. Maybe hoborg knows?

That SystemArgument exception shown in your logs isnt to do with your crash. Its a non critical thing that just stops some cover artwork from showing up. You can get rid of that error message by installing one of the recent updated nextpvr.exe patches (like http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post390517)

I can see your machine is choosing some odd decoders for playing a .mpg file. What is <ForceMpgGraph> set to in your config.xml file?

Are you talking about the log I had before editing my last post? I was hoping to change it before anyone replied, but maybe it was a good thing I had it posted.

Also, <ForceMpgGraph> is set to false.

Normally it'd be set to true. Can you set it to true then try playing the same file and posting the npvr.log?

What type of .mpg files are these? Were these recorded by GBPVR, or are they from somewhere else? I only ever test with MPEG2 .mpg files. Are these possibly MPEG1 files?
