I'll try to explain as good as i can.

"Kabel Deutschland" remapped their stations on analog cable tv. On the left side of the document (blue) you see the mapping from "Kabel Deutschland". The presets are my saved orders. Because nPVR doesn't have the ability to scan for channels (at the moment) i installed WinTV 7.2. WinTV searched and stored all found stations.
I wrote down the numbers (this time the red block of my document). The channelnumbers are the channels found by WinTV (german, cable, analog). Exactly this data i tried to enter within nPVR: Add a channel, germany, cable and... it's the wrong tuned channel (compared to WinTV setup). On channel 6 in WinTV 7 i have the station "ARD", while channel 6 on nPVR gived no receipton. nPVR find this station on channel 21! This is an offset of 15 channels. These "offsets" compared to WinTV repeat a lot of time. As you can see in my document, the channel offsets are 15 or 2 or -6 compared to the WinTV 7 channel receiption.

I am just wondered, because both programs are using the "germany, cable, analog" setting.

If you pick one channel that exhibits the problem, watch it, then post the npvr.log/nrecord.log, along with a description what channel you tried to watch and what you really saw, I'll take a look.

I just added a channel called "TESTCHANNEL ARD (channel 6)" as channel 6 and gave it the preset "36". After messing up my recordings (all tuners busy) i played back the "testchannel", went one step up to "ARD" (the "really" channel that SHOULD be number 6) and went down to the last channel "QVC".
Within NRecord.log it will be interesting after 20:14h.

EDIT: But it's nice to see, how i can get the frequencies. Didn't knew, that NRecord will log them.

You forgot to attach the logs.

It doesnt log the frequencies. I just want to check its asking for Germany/Cable/6, which will mean NPVR is doing the right thing. Behind the scenes Windows will convert that to an appropriate frequency etc, but I have no say in that.

This sounds interesting, i thought that nPVR was able to do this. Btw., do you have any plans for something like "TuningAssistant"? Not the fastest way to scan for channels... but this one worked (with the old PVR-150/500's).

To be honest, I have very few plans for analog. Most of the effort going forward will be on the digital side of things.

This one is/was set to 6 within the database (settings, devices, device setup). Just within the settings, channels menu it is set to #36".
You can see it yourself by viewing my document (WinTV red color, nPVR yellow color) that i had to search for other channels to get the right stations.

For now, this is working. I backup the database and pray, that Kabel Deutschland will never change again the channels... ;D I just thought, that the used channels by npvr should be the same as WinTV.

Below is what is in your database for the channel, and is exactly what is used for tuning. Its in the tuning column of the CHANNEL_MAPPING table.

Quote:<tuning>
<type>Analog</type>
<locator>
<channel>36</channel>
<country>49</country>
<input>cable</input>
<source>Tuner</source>
<fixed>2</fixed>
</locator>
</tuning>

I believe you, the logfile speaks facts. But this is NOT what i entered (i had this today a few times, that i entered a station with a channelnumber and the database showed another channelnumber so that i had to reenter the channelnumber).
I'll go home at 12am and will then retry this with a new set of channels. Thank you for your patience. Wink
