Let me see if I can explain it better. I have 4 Colossi in my server. In the Devices section of configuration all 4 show up as Hauppauge Colossus. All of these capture devices are connected to DirecTV receivers. I change channels on the DirecTV receivers by using a command with a different IP address (i.e., 192.168.1.100) for each one. I need to be able to tell that the first device in my list corresponds to the receiver with address 192.168.1.100 or whichever address is correct. If I don't then I might be changing the channel on the wrong receiver and end up recording the wrong show.

Does that help?

What is the ip address for? Are you using some sort of network blaster, or network interface on the set top box itself?

The IP address is for the set top box itself. Some DirecTV receivers can be controlled via http. This is how I am doing all my tuning on my Colossus cards.

You should be fine, just make sure you specify the correct blaster executable and command line parameters when you setup the channels on each device.

I understand that, but the command line needs to include the correct IP address and I'm not sure how to tell which goes where.

OK, now my recording service won't start with an error 1067 unless I start with a new .db3 file. Is there anything I can do to repair it. I'd rather not have to start over.

In each device you configure which blaster executable and paramaters you want to use for those channels. You'd have to put the correct ip address in those parameters.

I know I need to put the correct IP address. I also know which ip address corresponds to which capture card in Device Manager. What I don't know is how to map the order of the devices in Windows Device Manager to nPVR's list of devices. That's what I'm looking for.

Window's puts them in whatever order it choose. There is no magic way for the application to tell you this.

If you really had to know you can probably download graphedit, choose 'insert filters', expand the WM Stream Crossbars category, and you'll see your four crossbar filters lists, expand each of those devices, then compare the 'Display Name' that is shown with the ' Device Instance Path' property shown on the Details tab of the Device properties in Device Manager.
