Can you post your attachments somewhere else? That site seems to popup adds over your picture, and if I try to close it ends starting other popup web pages. Painful. Looks like your typical spam host that I avoid.

I'll try it just here, but space is limited. Big Grin

There are sadly no logs available, because i did delete the logs folder before (instead empty it) and npvr didn't create a new Logs folder. Undecided

In a few hours we will know more.

Quote:Mhm, even mvallevand experienced the same consumption like me. Curious.
I dont think he did describe the same thing as you. He described it needing a lot of memory, which is certainly true, not necessarily leaking. The size of the TV Guide is going to depend how many listings you've got. To play a H264 file in directshow is 200MB, before you add any other NextPVR component, ie 200MB in GraphEdit etc.

ShiningDragon Wrote:NextPVR.exe drops SOME memory, but not all. Every new file "eats up" around 30-50 MiB
Personally I'm more concerned about your blue line that was steadily increasing during playback. I cant work out could possibly consuming memory while the video is playing without the OSD present. When this is the case, NextPVR is pretty much doing nothing.

I was saying NPVR uses a lot of memory and I think it is crazy not to have swap space, I don't see a leak. Do your mkv files have subtitles, these might use extra memory?

Ah sorry mvallevand, so i missunderstood you. No, the .mkv don't have subtitles, at least not "the simpsons" which are used atm for testing purposes.

In case of swap space ... i didn't needed it ever before on this machine, so why should i change this behaviour? Yes, for know (to test it) i have one enabled.
After startup the mediacenter has ~600 MiB reserved for cache and 2.100 MiB for free. Because it's a 32-Bit OS and i am not using the large adress switch every process is limited to 2 GiB, so i can't believe that it should(!) runs out of memory. It shouldn't, but it does ... after running npvr 2.3.6 some time.

So what, i've just started again the machine and have the perf counter running in the background. We'll see what comes out of this test.

Does changing to a different video renderer have any impact on that continual rising blue line in perfmon?

Also, if you try the same perfmon test but for the same file in graphedit.exe, does it's line stay steady? Probably try a .mkv file, so you can just select 'render media file' from the menu.

The way it's continually rising during playback of video files, even when OSD is not showing, makes me think it's one of the directshow components doing it. Also worth noting, when you playing a .mkv file, there is no NextPVR directshow filters being used, and NextPVR is doing virtual nothing while the OSD isnt showing.

Mhm, as you can see ... Undecided

I'll try now another renderer.

Of course, here we go. Smile

Btw., i've just checked ... changing renderer, changing video decoder, changing audio decoder, even disabling all other decoders; no change.

Additionally i'll add a screenshot from the mediacenter too <Zwischenablage02.zip> (swapfile enabled now).
