Martin

No. Didn't know that I had to update the plugin for version 3 of NPVR. Should have read Johnson42's second post up the end. Thank you.

No it isn't linux but I find users used to be more technical and were a lot better about sending logs when simpler analog h/w capture was the norm. The video world is more complex and logs are pretty much mandatory as is at least some commitment for the user. If they don't have the desire, they have the option of WMC.

The number of posts from people trying to get NextPVR on what effectively is junk seems to be increasing too, but that's a separate issue.

Hey? I have been using and promoting this software for six years now and dropped a couple of bucks from time to time as I intend to do for this major changelog. Always tried not to disturb. Are you showing me the exit because I maliciously forgot that the log file what mandatory? Thought my apologies would have been enough.

OK... I decided to remove the old version of TV Listings first whitout installing the new one. Tried to record a program. NPVR still does not power on HDPVR after selecting the right channel on my STB. NPVR records an empty file. To be sure the problem was not due to incorrect wiring, I made a - successful - capture with TotalMedia Studio MV.

Thanks again!

Are you using component and SPDIF?

This would definitely be the thing to confirm. If you're not using SPDIF, this would explain it - since the app telling the device to use SPDIF, and if it doesn't get any data via SPDIF, then the HDPVR isn't going to light up and start delivering data.

Thank you Martin

no, my HD PVR is tied to the stb via component and regular rca audio. Do I understand that this worked in version 2 and not version 3?
I tried to change audio input in device setup for back RCA, but it rolls back to SPDIF. Do I have to stop NTray and/or NRecord before?

It doesn't matter what is selected at the top of the screen - it only matters what it says next to each channel. You will be seeing SPDIF next to each channel, so you need to update them back to RCA.

Set it to RCA at the top of the screen, select your channels to update from the list below, then right-click and select 'update from current settings' from the context menu.
