Hi Martin (et al). I do hope everyone is well in the world of NextPVR land.

I don't know where to begin, living in sin, (sorry Electronic lyrics, 1991 I believe).

I couldn't find a closer thread than this so I thought I would start here and then be steered in a proper direction Big Grin

Been playing with Gotham on Pi's and Android devices. NextPVR add-on not behaving very well but as I would have suspected NEWA at least gets LiveTV (though I think I read somewhere Martin that this was not what you envisaged NEWA for):

"Eventually I expect that the main raison d'etre for x-newa will be scheduling"

I still realize these are early days for the XBMC PVR add-on but having now got some time on my hands I would like to join the fold again
Wink

I was not sure where to post first, NEWA, XBMC part of NextPVR Forum or straight into XBMC Forum. Obviously I feel most comfortable here.........

My aim is to try and get LiveTV working a little more manageably.

And of course logs, logs, logs can be delivered as needed.

Once again, thanks for any advice.

Very best to all

Steeb

I am using NextPVR via X-NEWA web client exclusively these days and LiveTV works exactly like I'd like (except still dreaming of EPG Mode support via http). The experience varies by client though and I am not surprised that you are finding some issues with RPi and some Android h/w.

Many thanks Martin for info!

For fear of hijacking thread presume you are running web client on PC platform?

Have 1 weird issue with X-NEWA requesting wrong device for LiveTV, should I expect this or start a troubleshoot thread?

Very best

Currently on Windows 7, but also via XBMC on i.MX6 and FireTV. fred250's web client for Samsung is also pretty good.

X-NEWA requests LiveTV by channel number not device. your NextPVR logs would probably show what is being tuned.

Many thanks as usual Martin. That has answered all my queries and what to currently expect Big Grin

Don't know if it can be of interest, but want to share that I've managed to solve all my "Tuner no longer available" problems by adding NextPVR and Xbmc directories (both program files and users/programdata) and processes to Windows defender exclusions list.
Running Windows 8.1 x64 Pro

It was too good to be true
It works with tv channels, but still "tuner no longer available" with radio channels (every type analog, dvb-t and dvb-s).

Was this with timeshift enabled or disabled? There was a problem found recently with timeshift disabled, that could cause this, and a patch submitted for inclusion in XBMC.

It was with timeshift ENABLED. I'm using margro''s build (8th may).
Disabling timeshift makes "tuner no longer available" error message disappear, but radio channel zapping is very slow (8-10 secs).
Will try latest nightly build and let you know.
Thank you,
