I currently don't have NPVR installed.

I downloaded a new version from the forum page. The installation failed. I sent screenshots of the error message etc. with my last post.

Something to do with not being able to open NRecords.exe. Should I continue with the install after ignoring the error message.

Try right-clicking the installer and choose "Run as Administrator" in a new install, something (permissions of antivir/firewall) is obviously preventing the installer from doing its job properly.

I'm baffled. You could try an uninstall, then delete any NextPVR entries that remain in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR.

Then from an command prompt that has been started with Run as Administrator ... execute:

sc delete "NPVR Recording Service"

Then reinstall. Good luck.

This is very strange, it seems almost if you don't have ownership to the folders involved, you could try to take ownership of "Program files (x86)" and "\users\Public" with all it's subdirectories and set permissions so that Everyone has all rights.
