Playback Failing on Glitches

Yeah, it must be something Windows is doing. As far as NextPVR can tell, it's writing to disk regularly.

Can you see if this patch makes any difference?

This patch seems to have fixed the issues I was having and mentioned in the other thread here. This may also resolve the comskip issue others have reported.

The patch seems to have fixed my problem with recording files stopping before they actually ended. I also notice the the little blips I was having in my recordings have now stopped. I've tried watching a recording with two other programs recording and had no problems.

Pending johnsonx42 making the patch list again (thanks for the work on that in the past), I reckon there's been about 5 patches issued since 3.4.8 release, those released several times I have taken what I believe to be the latest - there are even 2 versions of one NEXTPVR.exe patch.

However for most of them I BELIEVE you have said you updated the installer. Are there any patches to date (Sat 16 May, 10:15am here or Saturday, 16 May 02 : 16 : 12 GMT) which have NOT been included in the installer?

that's why I've not put up the patch list again so far; sub's been re-rolling the installer shortly after each patch has been released. while it might be slightly confusing to have different versions of 3.4.8 floating around, I think it's better early on to get the installer updated with the needed fixes rather than expecting most users to install and then immediately replace a bunch of files. while the original 3.4.8 worked as-is for a lot of us, there are a few users for whom 3.4.8 was pretty broken. I suppose at some point sub will stop updating the 3.4.8 installer and I'll re-post the patch list to gather any further patches.

Perhaps Sub - when you replace the installer, you could put the date of replacement in the thread - in the Reserved post or somewhere.
The only way to see if you have the latest at the moment is to download it, bit of a waste of bandwidth.

There is a NEWA patch that is not included ( I was going to say newer)

As the originator of this thread, there was one more thing I had to do to get my system to stop pausing for seconds while it wrote to disk.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H and I had started using the Microsoft AHCI Driver to get Trim on the SSD.

After a lot of testing I have found that the last good chipset driver for the SB700 / 780G seems to be the AMD 13.4 Raid driver - everything after this and every standard AMD AHCI driver before that I tested, causes the computer to pause every now and then for several seconds as it writes to disk. Possibly flushing NCQ ques to disk at inappropriate moments?

Only downside is no Trim on the SSD - have to rely on built in Garbage Collection.
