Sorry, I don't know then. It still looks like it's missing netstandard, which should be avaialble in .NET 4.6.x runtime.

At this point I start to believe this is a real bug on the 4.6.x packages, the error to me smells like a file that should be there but is missing, rather than a file that isn't there by design.

BUT bug or whatever it is I believe is worth to mention the 4.7.2 requirement here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=59388

Keep in mind, it did already tell you during the attempted install if it wasn't already detected, and offer to take you to the Microsoft site to install it. Most people will probably already have it, and never need to know about it.

Yeah sorry, I'm tired and is morning here, I forgot that the recent installer warns clearly

P.S. just FYI out of curiosity I searched on my current install for "nestandard" on a 4.8 .net.

Search returned 13 items (some of them are not relevant because in WinSXS and some are just manifests)

I did the same on 4.6.2 install

Search returned nothing. Either MS docs are wrong, or 4.6.x installations are buggy Wink

Thanks will change later this year when NextPVR is updated to use .NET 6. At this time netstandard goes away, and .net core and .net framework are merged and use a single runtime.

Great!

BTW, the discussion drifted to the .NET thing and was really helpful to bisect the problem, but what about my initial question about MPC-HC and NPVR4?

Do you have any idea?

I suspect MPC-HC didn't like some of the slightly non-standard things that NextPVR v4 did when streaming over http. NextPVR v5 corrects those short comings

Ok, got it  working.  Cool

For now is done using the hammer and a crowbar now I need to get the same result using the chisel, to, eventually, make it available publicly.

Will be matter of time available and laziness  Blush
