What is wrong with using knewc? You can autostart NextPVR and barely tell the difference

The complication is that there was another bug that could cause symptoms similar to what he described, because of two audio decoders being added for some users. This was fixed by the patch here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid564022. Unfortunately madbrain's is a different issue, and I'm still trying to help him narrow down the cause. Maybe create post your logs though, so I can't conffirm you aren't getting the double audio decoder issue (and check the decoders being used etc).

That is good to know, so it is definitely looking like it is audio renderer related for you.

I'm a little suspicious of those two settings shown in your options:

'Auto A/V Sync correction'
'Convert Output to Standard Channel Layouts'

If you untick these do they help at all?

Have you tried to remux the video?
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...173&page=2

I have the same problem with a/v sync, after the remux it is in sync, the one thing I noticed is after the remux the file size is larger(103MB vs 100MB).
Here's a link if you want the files, https://app.box.com/s/v1a8xjvi89md0ikb3j0nnx4dwlx6g5hz

For the most part, you shouldn't have to remux the video. Broadcast video should be in sync when captured. There are some situations which can be help skipping etc by remux, but generally it shouldn't be required.

Hi Martin, I've looked at the knewc forum, but I didn't find a "how to install knewc for dummies".  Huh

Ah, I had the "multiple LAV filters" bug recently, along with the high CPU and GPU usage.  However, you posted a patch that fixed those.

I rebooted, then waited a few minutes for Windows to finish all of its post-boot shenanigans, the started Two and a Half Men.  Once with the LAV "Auto A/V sync correction" off and then again with it on.  The video got very slow and stuttering on the first play.  It did better on the second attempt, but still had sync problems.

Logs attached.

This from the read me first is probably the closest to a dummies guide https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...#pid463553  After the repository gets installed then you have to actually add the add from that repository.   That allows it to get automatically updated.  Further in that post are instructions on autostarting knewc to hide Kodi, but you probably should hold off on that while you get used to running the addon in case you want to use the PVR.

Just to update, I switched the AC3 Decoder from LAV to the old AC3Filter and it solved my a/v sync problem.
