I've justed tried it on a clean machine. All I do to get it going is the following: In the config app, set deinterlacing to 'ffdshow raw video filter'. Edit the 'Raw-only ffdshow filter configuration' and enable you preferred deinterlacing (and enable OSD so it'll be obvious).

Thats it. Start live tv and you're away.

You may want to reset the ffdshow settings to the defaults incase you've broken something. Remember, it has to be the Raw-only settings you edit.

Sub, thanks for taking the time to test the setup. I really appreciate it.

I think I've gotten closer to figuring out the problem with your scenario. (The clue being that in the 06-30-2005 version, there's no explicit Raw Config shortcut... so I had to rundll32 it with configureRaw)

I've tried two different versions of ffdshow: 10-12-2004 and 06-30-2005 and both of them get different results.

10-12-2004 gives me a blank screen.
06-30-2005 gives me the errored/exiting MsgBox.

Which version of ffdshow are you using?

I got it to work with version 10-14-2004 and I had to use VMR9 instead of Overlay Manager to get a picture but it gets choppy as my Athlon XP 3200+ CPU hits 100% at times. My graphics card is a cheap one (MX400) so I'll probably need to upgrade that to get VMR9 to behave.

What I don't get is... Dscaler is able to get Overlay + deinterlace just fine...

Thanks again for the great work. Keep it up!

You CPU is certainly fine. I done really know anything about your graphics card, so I'm not sure how much of a problem it is. Have you tried a variety of video decoders?

ffdshow just doesnt work well with Overlay in my experience. Unfortunately this isnt something in my control.
