It is worse now because the skin with the "recording soon" on it is now the only skin.

Whatever your problem is, its not being caused by the "recording soon" panel. but for your peace of mind you can easily edit skin\blue\mainmenu\skin.xml and delete the two panel lines.

I tried using the screen saver, but that locked up my machine after an extended run as well.

I use my PC soley for GBPVR and it runs the client 24-7.

I'm also running my main "production" machine 24x7 (no hibernating or anything), but I've not noticed any problem.

Thanks sub, I'll start checking my updates of my Norton AV and MS anti-spyware to see if they are causing the issue. They both go every morning.
