this version works fine - thanks - I now can see the plugin.

I have a USBcamera - but not any program for making webcamera - where can I find that kind of program? - or am I misunderstanding something?

Is there a program already in XP?

usbcamera is a webcamera. There is a program that comes with the plugin that talks to the camera and acts as a bridge between the plugin and the camera.

ok

I went to GBPVR directory and ran
WebCamCapture.exe
and chose my camera - and now it works as office
thanks!

as I understand it I have to have WebCamCapture.exe runmimg to be able to see it in GBPVR

Do I need to change anything in webcam.xml?

webcam.xml not by default.

The plugin kicks off webcamcapture if not running.

Are there any details on the webcam.xml setup? I am trying to get 2 webcams working, a Logitech Clicksmart 310 and a Logitech QuickCam Pro 2000. I had the 2000 setup when I installed the plugin and I added the second cam later. I thought it would be cool to have one pointing inside the house and one pointing outside the front door. I have added the second line so my file looks like:

<webcam>
<camera name="Inside" connection="0"/>
<camera name="Outside" connection="1"/>
</webcam>

Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, great work on the plugin. Stuff like this makes me want to get back into programming.

Can someone please explain how the XML config file works with settings, also my cam has security (http://user:password@ipaddress) and (http://username@ipaddress).

Anyone confirm this all works, i cant get it working in this plug in, the same line works in FIREFOX.

(it just pulls and image from the camera in JPG, nothing fancy there....)
Many Thanks

How bout this for a new function. displaying u pto 4 at once, with say 2 ticker updates for each. So it's updating all 4 at 3 frames a sec (3*4=12fps.)
Or if anything, have a button on the left to click that will allow you to auto switch views every 5 seconds, or 10, or whatever. So it shows one camera, then 10 seconds, it auto-switches to the next, then the next. I like the first option better actually.
I only have one camera myself, but thats cool to add for people that have multiple ones eith way. Like the plugin though, neat work!! Might actually have to skin it and include it with pm3 skin.

Am using security cam plugin, however, whenever I invoke my webcam, I can't turn it off anymore and eats up a lot of memory. Eventually, my MVP chokes and I have to go to my GBPVR machine and turn it off and restart the recording. Anybody else experiencing this.

I havent tried passworded cameras. I just have a cheap web cam. Eventually I will buy some ip cameras and enhance the plugin.

There is a mode for alternating cameras. Each camera shows for half a second. I did want to do the 4 at a time. Just havent got to it.

When you leave the program the web app should be stopped. Once the app is stopped the camera should return to idle.
