Quote:As far as colours go, my vote would be for a darker green (or a blend of the bar colour and background colour) when auto-skipping is off to show that it's still playable but marked, and black (or the background colour) if auto-skipping is enabled because it would look more like gaps in the video. Hope that makes sense.
This my first thought, but unfortunately most people already cant tell the difference between the current dark green and black, so I dont think this really works. I can see it clearly see the darkgreen on my monitor and my plasma tv, but it looks black on my bedroom CRT tv (connected via svideo).

Some of the posts here sounds like that is not the case.

Correct sub....when the 999 auto-skip is off you only see a solid bar....the commercial breaks are not displayed on the line at all.

I just switched autoskip on and I can see the problem. Thing is, comskip is not reliable enough for me to use autoskip but I *really* like the way the dark green looks. Ah, well.

Shame you can't "compact" commercials into a thin dark green line when auto skipping is on, a bit like VideoRedo in preview mode does.

As I said, it'll be a skinning option, so there is nothing stopping your from setting it to darkgreen if you want.

The default will be darkgreen markers when auto skip enabled (like it always has been), and probably dark grey when auto skip is disabled. I'll try it tomorrow to finalize the default colour.

That sounds like a logical choice to me. I thought the comercials were marked black, so I see the problem with shades of green.
BTW, so far I am really impressed with 98.13. I keep allot of EPG data, 11 days on over 200 channels and so far I have had no problems with database access I.E. "Database is locked" problems and MVP boots vs 98.08. Everything seems to run much cleaner now. Thank you Sub!

Sounds good for me. As always you are right!
Thank Sub for the effort.

I get commercial "black holes" in either mode now. I didn't seem to notice a difference in color between the modes, but the markers did seem to look different than they used to in old releases. Maybe a more dusty-colored black. Anyway, thanks for the patch - works great.

Its actually quite a big difference in colour on my screen between the darkgreen, darkgray and black. As I said though, its a skinning option so can be changed if anyone needs to.

Works for me.....the difference is minimal on my MVP screen....but enough that I know there is a difference.

Thanks sub.
