many thanks to sub and newyankee ... finally I get all the channels on Astra and Hotbird with my Hauppauge DVB-S cards (Nova-S-Plus and WinTV-HVR-4000).

Of course now with 2000+ channels I would wish to have a switch to automatically filter scrambled from unscrambled channels.

Great job and many thanks again.

Cheers, Ulrich

hi sub,
i have a Nova-S-Plus and want to view channels on Astra and Hotbird too. I have a diseqc.

Can you send me or explain me how to configure the capture cards for this situation.

Must i have 2 capture device (one for each LNB) ? and what must i put in the disqc fields. ?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Cheers, Joe

To be quite honest, I couldnt tell you. We have a pretty simple setup in our part of the world.

One of the other guys in Europe with a similar setup would be in a better position to advice.

You'll most likely need to create two capture sources for the same device. What you use in the diseqc setting, depends on the diseqc switch you're using. From memory you need a standard four-way switch with the Hauppauge devices. So assume you've got the first LNB pointing at Astra, then you'd have a capture soure set to 'Astra' satellite and the diseqc set to 'A', an assuming the second LNB is point at Hotbird, then you'd have a capture source set to 'Hotbird' with the diseqc set to 'B'. Each would have to have the correct LNB parameters for the type of LNB you're using.
