My 2 cts: I saw in the log that your mvp-screen settings (768x576) are quite high.
I remember (when fiddling with the screen-size/position) my mvp wouldn't boot when these were not right. I don't remeber if it was the screensize or the numbers not being dividable by 4 that kept it from starting.

Thanks for taking the trouble, htv. You were right. Changing to 640 x 480 corrected the problem of continual server reboots.

But, the blasted lines are still there! But at least I can now start with some more experimenting.

Thanks.

Did it also still have the lines when you tried a full size picture?

<MVPWidth>720</MVPWidth>
<MVPHeight>576</MVPHeight>
<MVPOffsetX>0</MVPOffsetX>
<MVPOffsetY>0</MVPOffsetY>

Yes, sub - no difference with any setting, incl 576x768 0,0.

If I pause an mpg, the paused image does not have the lines but the osd has.

I would dearly love to get rid of these lines as they severely mar photo displays but altering the config.xml settings doesn't seem to be the answer, unfortunately. It's just so strange that only my panel suffersSad

Yeah, its pretty odd. As far as I can tell the MVP is just putting out a standard PAL signal, but your panel is getting screwed up trying to display those pictures.

If you dont change any setting and plug it into another TV, and it doesnt show the same problem, then it sounds like its definitely the panel causing it.

That is a tremendously kind thing to do - I thank you.

I thought of that, too, and have moved the MVP and svideo cable around to see whether the lines were affected. Tonight I also powered the MVP from another pwr socket. I can move everything around with absolutely NO effect on the lines. They are synced rock solid. In addition, if it was electrical it would probably affect all inputs incl mpg's and the Hauppauge boot up screens.

I also ran the MVP back into the 'old' CRT set and those lines aren't there.

Somehow different manipulations are going on between static images and moving ones. I'm stumped.

Here's a thought - my panasonic has a SD card slot. Does yours? If so, maybe try putting a card in with some jpgs, see what happens?

Don't know if it would help or what exactly it would tell you, but might eliminate something. Clutching at straws I'm afraid Sad

If you press and hold the down key in the tv guide, so the screen is switching, do the lines move to different positions on the screen?

No SD card in the newer model.

Using down key in TV Guide makes absolutely no diff. These lines are totally locked and stable.

Hauppauge boot screens are in living colour.
