Analog channels. Problem exists even when I shut down my AV, Firewall and Spysweeper.

Maybe a problem with zap2it at the moment. Try again tomorrow.

Sub,

I just came across GB PVR earlier today and am very excited by the prospects. It seems to be a great app, but I'm having the same problem with the Zap2it updates. I've searched the forums but thought I'd post my issues.
  • I have a brand new install of the software ver 99.5
  • I'm using a WinTV-PVR USB2 under WinXP on a Dell 3.2ghz P4 / 1.5 GB RAM / Dual monitor / Nvidea GeForce FX5200 w 128 MB
  • I'm able to use the Music, Video, Photo, FM Radio, Net Radio, and YouTube but cannot use TV Guide, Search Guide or Live TV.
  • I went to the Zap2it site and created an account and a lineup.
  • I'm able to log into the labs.zap2it.com with my usename / password combo.
  • I've definitely entered it correctly into the configuration screen.
  • I've applied the previously mentioned patch (it says version 1.0.2554.32861).
  • Since the system wouldn't even let me watch live TV without any channels in the lineup I had the idea to try to manually add channels. After doing so, I was able to watch live TV on the first channel but not any of the others.
I'm attaching my log file in case that helps. If you need any other info please let me know. I'm excited about the software as a whole, but obviously I need to figure out how to get the TV guide to work properly.

By the way, I'm willing to try to use any other service to get my listings, but I just couldn't figure out how. I'm using Time Warner analog cable in area code 75034.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers,

John

It looks like the request is either being cancelled by the server, or you have some firewal getting in the way.

Yeah, I can't understand it. I've disabled my software firewall as well as the hardware firewall built into the router, but it made no difference.

I can access every other site and service on the net as far as I know. Any ideas of what else to check?

No, nothing else springs to mind. Sorry.

Thanks I was able to set it up...I choose update EPG for zap2it but I'm only getting channel info..no programming guide info at all...is there any issues with the guide ? The other EPG guide I tried didn't have programming info. either. Do I need to setup programming guide too ? I did update all channel info so not sure why its not there.

Thanks,

Dave

No, there are no known issues I'm aware of that would cause this. We have seen this a few times with user error though - resulting from the user having the date set incorrectly on their PC (usually wrong month or year).
